PITTSBURGH, Oct. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TMS International Corp.(NYSE: TMS), the parent company of Tube City IMS Corporation, a leading provider of outsourced industrial services to steel mills globally, today announced that several of the company's sites received a total of 46 Safety Awards from the National Slag Association (NSA) for 2010.

The NSA Safety awards recognize superior performance as measured against Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable injury rates. The awards were presented to the Company during the NSA's fall meeting held in Florida in late September.
Since joining the NSA in 2005, Tube City IMS has earned more than 220 Safety Awards.

Company sites that received safety awards for "Job Sites with at Least 200,000 Hours Since Last Recordable Accident" were: Gary, IN; Middletown, OH; Beaumont, TX; Monterrey, Mexico; Puebla, Mexico; and Trinidad.
Operations in Trinidad, and in Monterrey and Puebla, Mexico, also each received awards for "Lowest Incident Rate" for employees.
Company sites in Canada receiving safety awards for "Lowest Incident Rate" for employees were: L'Original, Ontario; Hamilton, Ontario; Nanticoke, Ontario; and Regina, Saskatchewan.
